{"id":63,"date":"2024-06-28T16:58:58","date_gmt":"2024-06-28T14:58:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/janslangen.be\/?p=63"},"modified":"2026-08-19T21:40:49","modified_gmt":"2026-08-19T19:40:49","slug":"the-people-that-opened-their-doors-for-me","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/janslangen.be\/nl\/the-people-that-opened-their-doors-for-me\/","title":{"rendered":"De mensen die hun deuren voor me openden"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grote dank (nogmaals) aan al mijn gastheren en gastvrouwen tijdens de afgelopen zomer- en herfstfietstocht door het noorden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ik vond het erg leuk om deel uit te maken van kleine gezinnen en met de kinderen te spelen, te genieten van de warmte (letterlijk en figuurlijk) van een huis, was blij met het geven van wat (andere) zin aan mijn leven als reiziger door een beetje te helpen in een huishouden door te koken, af te wassen, hout te hakken, \u2026 Het was ook een geweldige kans om andere interessante en warme mensen te ontmoeten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Naast een paar willekeurige ontmoetingen werd ik vaak geholpen via gastvrijheidsgemeenschappen zoals Couchsurfing (6 keer) en Warmshowers (7 keer). Het leuke van die laatste is dat er altijd wel een gespreksstarter is met de gemeenschappelijke interesse in fietsreizen. Je hoeft dus niet zozeer te zoeken naar profielen die aansluiten bij je eigen interesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ik kampeerde veel in de zomer, maar toen de herfst begon en de nachten vochtiger werden en de zon niet genoeg droogcapaciteit bood om mijn tent &#8217;s ochtends te drogen, ging ik op zoek naar andere oplossingen. Ik sliep onder talloze daken van sportstadions, ik kraakte (opzettelijk en per ongeluk) hier en daar wat lege constructies zoals een verlaten caravan, wat ru\u00efnes, een berghut en een kapel in het conservatieve Polen (misschien niet het beste idee maar ik kwam ermee weg) Speciale vermelding ook voor deze futuristische fietsherberg op de Lofoten eilanden en de prachtige open hutten in de nationale parken in Finland en Noorwegen tijdens mijn korte rugzakwandelingen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Helaas heb ik niet al mijn gastheren op de foto gezet, dat is iets wat ik bij toekomstige reizen zal proberen te doen.
